Preserving Land and Water Resources in the
Saginaw Basin
The Saginaw
Basin Land Conservancy works to maintain the quality of life in
the Saginaw Bay Watershed through
the preservation of important wetlands, waterways and land of
all types.
The Conservancy is a non-profit charitable
501(c)(3) organization working in all 22 counties that comprise
the Saginaw Basin. To date, the
Conservancy has protected more than 155 acres in five preserves
and 3,700
acres in 35 conservation agreements
(easements).
Preserving our natural areas is more than keeping
our landscapes beautiful. Natural areas provide
a vital
environmental filter against runoff, agricultural chemical
spills and non-point pollution that can contaminate our water
supply and degrade the habitat of wildlife throughout our
region.
Clean land helps to protect clean water. Clean, high quality
water ensures the survival of many species, including us.
Preserving
Nature Forever
The Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy does not just save our
natural areas once. Instead, we eagerly take on the
responsibility to monitor and preserve critical, strategic land
in mid-Michigan forever.
Working to clean and protect the Saginaw Basin is
not an easy task and would not be possible without the generous
support of our donors and volunteers – won’t you join us today
in one of our community’s most important efforts?
Helping the Conservancy to preserve natural spaces
preserves our best destiny — giving ourselves and our children
the necessary natural tools to grow and thrive.
